I use Bord Gáis for my home gas because their tariff is one of the best in Ireland. Their service is very efficient, and their customer support is superb.
I recently changed to a green energy plan as I bought an electric car. The discount on my electricity is less and also, I had to come off level pay. Totally illogical. Penalized for doing the right thing
Absolutely no customer service. Booked a boiler service got a date for 6 weeks later. Received a call on the day to cancel it, no engineer available. Would I like a date another 4 weeks away and no they can't do 2-5pm as that slots not left and no they can not accommodate me in any way having let me down, and from May on they only work mornings!!!
(They owe me €5k!!!) As a current customer my biggest advice is: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH BORD GÁIS. Can’t give 0 stars otherwise I would. Poorest customer service EVER, I’ve been waiting over 3 months to get a refund of nearly €5.000 as I was overcharged. During these months I’ve engaged in numerous emails with different staff members (Gaston, Emma, Caoimhe, Devin, Darragh, Séan, Rian, Patrick, Agneiska, Julianne) and no one was able to offer me an explanation of why this is taking so long. All I get is “We’ll escalate your request” “we’re waiting for the refunds department to update us” and just like that it’s been months. This is extremely frustrating. I have emailed, called, sent all documents required and waited and waited and nothing has been done. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I will be closing my account as soon as my current contract expires.
Shane was very professional and friendly. He had the boiler serviced in about 50 minutes and gave me some good advice in how to get the best out of my boiler
I'm terribly embarrassed, customer service is a joke, just waiting for the connection is a joke!!!! and the people who work there on the hotline behave like bots, especially the ladies coming from India, the whole company is one big mess, I have been renting an apartment for 5 years, I usually received a bill every two months around 400e, which is still a lot because we only slept at home with my wife after a night shift from work, but I'd like to add that a few months ago, after changing the meter to a smart meter, we received a bill for PLN 8,000!!!! of course no one even came to check it after numerous calls to them!! in all this, I lost my job and the debt is still there, no willingness to help in explaining it, and best of all, with the 230e benefit that I receive, I pay 10e per week plus the bill that comes every two months, and today a man came and said that he had to disconnect my electricity because I was in arrears. 8,000 euros in my life, people, I warn you against these thieves with such a terrible company, I have never met in my life, now me and my family will be without electricity because of customer service that has no idea about their responsibilities, no help of any kind, we are left to live without electricity with wife and daughter!!! and I will add that during these 5 years I have never had any arrears, I pay as much as I can afford and they disconnect my electricity. so I warn everyone not to use this company - ordinary thieves without compassion - 1stars hope that someone will take care of this company because they will continue to ordinary people
My complaint is that if my meter hasn’t been read by your company in about 12 months then I’m unable to submit my reading online but you wilt accept the same reading over the phone but not online absolutely ridiculous also I used to submit a reading each Month myself in order to avoid getting estimated bill but by doing So your meter reader then didn’t call at all and now we’re back to my original point No joined up thinking here in that I’m trying to avoid estimated reading with the result that your reader doesn’t call
bord gais issue payment cards for paying bills in post offices etc, but only for Gas bills. they should, but do not, issue cards for paying Electricity bills. it would make bill paying easier.
Last year I was getting emails with loads of free competitions and maybe one insurance offer now it's all insurance or boiler offers and one free competitions!
Always an amazing experience with customer service, I feel like bord gais really care about your experience with them, every single time they're needed, they always help, absolutely in love with all the services that staff provide.
Got our annual service at a great price as an existing Bord Gais customer, very friendly technician arrived on time and was great to deal with, recommended!
Just had my boiler service cancelled for the second time in a row. This time, it was cancelled on the day it was due. Payed up front last February. I would not recommend using Bord Gas to anyone.
Booked and paid a Boiler repair service via website for 169 euro - 2 months later I received a text message that payment is overdue. I’ve never seen an invoice nor was I made aware at the appointment that there is an extra charge. After getting in touch about the text I received, they then sent me the invoice over for an extra 133 euro that was apparently due 2 months ago.. I almost didn’t react to that text message because I thought it was a scam.. well it still clearly is a scam but I had no choice but to pay these scammers. do not book a boiler repair with them!
So far so good, very easy to navigate the accounts section layout for members, easy to navigate, very straightforward, it just suits me better compared to others.
I received a threatening letter saying I owed money for a service I never got. I rang and was told it was a mistake and I asked for an apology in writing to confirm same. It never arrived so I wrote to CEO Dave Kirwan and Customer Service manager Susan Whyte and received a lovely apology and reassuring me it would never happen again. This morning I received a further letter demanding the money and this time threatening me with court action! Customer Service with Bord Gais is a joke and I have no confidence in them at all.
I love the smart plan that gives me free electricity Saturday or Sunday. Great company to deal with.
Over 20 years with board Gàis and have never had a issue very professional and great customer services
Tried booking a boiler repair. First time they didn't turn up, no apology or contact. Second time booked they turned up and refused to service it as the boiler is in the attic, would be good if they asked that question during the booking phase if they have restrictions on where they will and wont service a boiler in a house. So I prepaid for a repair (the only way they let you book) that has not been done and now I have to go on hold and try and get a refund and find a competent engineer who is not afraid to enter the attic. So likely any other independent engineer then.
Genuinely like this company if rang each year they will try give you lower price
