Decent size electrical shop with a lot of variety but their computer section is very poor, especially any pc parts you might need as they are very limited in stock. If you need to talk to someone by phone forget about it, you'll have more chance getting through to someone on the space station. It can be a pain as well trying to get someone to help you in the store, because if it's any bit at all busy you better bring a packed lunch as you'll be waiting. Saying that I buy a few things here every year since there's not exactly much variety when it comes to electrical shops in cork and it's one of the better of a bad bunch.
This visit restored my faith in the Curry's brand. So many disappointing visits in the UK and Ireland, but actually dealt with professionally by an experienced retail salesman, Raymond. 👍 Negative Update: Unfortunately, my faith has been lost again - though no fault of the salesman or the helpful assistant in store today. Not only has the ordered and paid for product (a toaster) not arrived in store a week later, but we have had no updates, spent a day yesterday on the phone trying to track it and still waiting for an acknowledgement to our email to Customer Services sent 24 hours ago. Should have ordered on Amazon: next day delivery and €10 cheaper as it turns out. Joke company with decent unsupported staff. AVOID!!
Probably the worst customer service ever. Have been trying to sort out a replacement for a damaged washing machine they delivered with 3 weeks now and every time we ring it’s a different story. Absolutely shocking will never buy appliances from them again!!
According to Google store was supposed to be open at 10 am Sunday. It did not open until 12 pm. We drove a long distance to collect an essential item for home schooling and had to wait in the car 2 hours. Update your hours on Google guys, only takes 5 minutes
Most Staff have very limited knowledge of what they are selling. Prices are high. Recently went in to get a USB 3 card reader at a very quite time on a Thursday morning. I asked a staff member if they had them as I could see them on website but could not see them in store. He said that they only had what was on display. I asked would it be worth checking store room but he was adamant that all they had was on display. Went on line later and saw they could be reserved for collection online. Showed that there were lots of them in stock. On collecting the following day staff member that i collected from was surprised i was told there were none in stock as between the different types he said there were at least 50 units in stock.
Mahon Point Store: over the phone reservation of a product, nothing found on the system when I arrived. Got no email to confirm, email address was reconfirmed. Made payment and delivery, delivery man called that he's onway, checked the address, the format was wrong and badly mispelt (including the name Blarney). Delivered badly dented, advised to await call 2-3 days, heard nothing over a week (got visitors from abroad, so busy). Got a call that it's now cancelled, not refunded and I have to go instore. Dealt with manager, was offered €10 goodwill, not satisfied with this, used no foul language/ raised voice or rudeness, he was not happy with my tone, I did not have a go at him. Said I'd do a review, his reply "I don't care". Also, advised me the delivery man had power to arrange better goodwill instantly or refund process. Also that reservation over the phone isn't an option, don't know why the girl on phone took my email and reconfirmed pickup at Mahon Point. Others have been lucky. And have to agree with the lack of staff (could be a reason)
Appliances do not have best before date. Why don't keep them in stock what you are offering online? After standing in the queue outside (assured by the assistant they have loads in stock) had to leave empty handed, cos another assistant told they've nothing in stock.
Go there if you know what you want and you need it now. Good: parking, location, ability to check stock online. Bad: pricing, lack of knowledge of staff. Expect to pay extra compared to online delivery, like 20%. If you go there make sure to drop by bean & leaf - great coffee!
Rude American sounding woman at checkout who at the time ignored me, I was at the checkout with a small item to purchase but was ignored. Instead the server proceeded to talk to the lady behind me. At one point she talked to the lady behind me while looking directly at me. I asked was she talking to me she said rudely no, the lady behind me. If I had had a big purchase I would have put it back as she behaved so rudely to me. Since, if I see her on checkout and I want to buy something in the store I leave it. Also, my aunt was buying a tablet. The young man dealing with her was not 100% clued up on the tablet. They were charging what I think is too much for her to leave her tablet she bought there over night in the store to get it set up and stuff loaded to it. That is ridiculous as you need the person's email and password to set it up right. We left with the tablet. I had it set up in less than ten minutes at my aunt's.
Not very good purchased a lap top in Feb and the screen is gone on it. Will be at least a fortnight before I get it back as it has to go to the u k for someone to look at it. Also I could lose all my data. I am not very happy. Great to sell you something but don't care if you have a problem
Quick visit, busy place pre Christmas.Staff ok,some pretty bad.Told a new laptop would be ready to pick up on Tuesday after being setup.Long drive on Tuesday & told nothing had been done due to a ? on the docket & did we get a phone call saying it was ready.Salesman didn't mention anything about a phone call so back again two days later after getting a phone call.Good idea having a seperate person to deal with someone just picking up a computer instead of joining the long queue. But the guy gave me a look like I was queue jumping.Just using my knowledge of your setup,I've read the sign & you wasted enough of my time this week already guys.Happy Christmas Curry's.
Good afternoon everyone, I recommend this store, I broke my keyboard and they replaced it for a new and expensive without any questions! ALL RECOMMEND THIS STORE!
Received Really poor customer service here twice this week (22th November to 29th) in relation to their black Friday offers. On both occasions I reserved a model of tv only to discover when I got to the store it wasn't available and was a inventory mistake on their part Even though one unit was ordered specifically for me. After alot of talk with staff and management I got zero satisfaction or results and was basically told they have no TV for me or nothing similar I instead spent my 1000euros on Littlewoods who ended up being 79cheaper than this place anyways. Me or family will never spend a cent in this store again from the experience we had. A joke of a shop with HORRENDOUS STAFF
I would give Currys zero stars if I could. Terrible customer service, I returned a new TV for repair which never worked. They took it and 5 weeks later I had no further update, I emailed customer services and got no reply. I called into the shop during my lunch time and waited in the customer services line for 15 minutes without seeing anyone. I then rang customer services, on hold for 1hr 53min before talking to someone and they said the needed to put me on hold again to check it out but instead they hung up, it was 17.30 exactly when the representative hung up. I still don't have any update on my TV. Disgraceful service and bad merchandise.
Worst customer service. Avoid this shop. Never come near you. This was my third time this week attempting to buy Bose headphones Pioneer speakers and oled 55 lg TV. They don't want the business. I end up buying for Harvey Norman.
Walking around in the shop for 40 min, not one who works inside came to give a hand or advice . Had to leave the shop !!! Never coming again !!!
Very good customer service. In the home appliances section there's not as many brands available as Harvey Norman but when it comes to TV, Currys is the best. I found their electronic section very good. Overall a happy customer.
I found a TV on they website what was showing is there available in store, but this was false.. I said OK we can chose another one. I was asking about 4 other TVs from shop assistant what was on display but all was out of stock.. I still don't know why are they on display if you can't buy them.. Or I can understand it, the shop looks better with full with TVs just you can't buy them.. Like a chines ebay store you can order it and the delivery takesis 2-4 weeks.. Ridiculous..
A lot of products to choose from, but there's a good chance if you are looking for a laptop or tablet, it will be out of stock. They are saying it's due to the pandemic, but it has been happening for years. Also they have very few large appliances in stock in the store so they need to be delivered, which is handy, but not if you need something in a rush.
Waiting over 49 minutes for service. Loads of people walking around but not doing anything. Service/ returns desk manned by unqualified staff.
