Eire Electric Reviews (1/5)
Get a Solar Installation Quote
i paid twice. the first time i paid online it didn’t go through so i was forced to pay at a corner shop and when i paid both the money went through!!!! this is annoying me i paid 80€ all together even though i was only supposed to pay only 40€. i want my 40€ back now this is not fair at all
Edit-03- Solar panel systems cost on an average 50% higher (or 30% lower , whichever way you calculate) than competition. I got same 16 Jinko panels N-type, Huawei hybrid 5kw inverter, eddi from two previous quotations for 7700€ and 8250€ and Electric Ireland (NRG panels) charging 11250€ for exact same setup. Stay away, do some research from different companies. Edit-02- What can I say, things get better and better or should I say worse. The only reason to stay with electronic Ireland is employee discount otherwise I don't see any good reason why a sane person would even think of staying with these illiterates who can't even copy and paste your name even after calling and confirming multiple times and sending email with details. The address is still wrong. And any queries beyond usual billing or general question would feel like talking to a wall. My frustration level is almost too much to be funny. Edit-01- First- add that landline number to your website home page.... Second-Add another free landline or toll free number for emergency contact, that's even more important, people who don't have credit can't call even for emergency.... Third- when you send a link to activate account, give customers a call to tell them that the link is only active for 24 hours. ..... Old review- Online application takes more than a month, welcome to company from stone age . No landline/mobile number, you call an 1850 number and it deducts from your phone balance, are you kidding me !! You couldn't take a landline number where your existing customers can at least call ? Wow, mean really wow.
The worst experience of my whole life in terms of anything to choose was Electric Ireland. I used to use prepaid power which had very high rates. I decided to install a bill pay meter. I installed a new meter two months ago. A week ago, the electrician turned on the connection. I go back from work, there is no electricity. I myself have been sick for ten days. I am suffering from Corona virus. I have to take care of my pregnant wife. She is also infected with Corona. I have called at least 25 to 30 times in three days. My old supplier says need to ask from electric ireland send us notification Ask Ireland to send us a notification so that you can be sent a deactivation code, but Electric Ireland is not listening. The old supplier told me that if your current company sends us a notification, we will get a deactivation code and your Electric Ireland connection will be electrified. Otherwise, you will top up every day. I am in a bad condition due to tension. I have never seen such a bad service in my life. I am sorry. Not only that, but his money is falling every day. So if you don't want to waste your time and money, stay away from Electric Ireland. Very frustrated Please don’t mention me to contact you again through social media Facebook or twiter.🥲
Just got on to Electric Ireland about a new contract, I totally understand the unit price increase but they have doubled the standing charge, ie line rental. What a disgusting company Paddy Hayes their CEO should be ashamed, it's kicking the public when they are down. In 2020 the standing charge was €104 per year, its now €302 per year, they have taken all the Governments help, disgraceful.
Im with Electric Ireland 18 years and im now finished with them and gone to Energia. they sent me an email saying my old plan was finished and to ring for a new one which I did and they gave me €100 bonus for staying and the plan would be activated the next day. So I check my account and the bill went from €194.28 to €94.28 but a week later they took the full €194.28 and credited my account €100 and today they took a further €147 from my account saying I owed €100 credit and €47 as a final bill a complete mess Electric Ireland are
Electric Ireland are the biggest spoofers in the Irish energy industry. I moved into a house 2 months and electric ireland just sent me a gas bill for 421 euro but we've only been using the gas for the last 3 weeks. The bill makes no sense and when I tried to call to query the bill its impossible to get through to anyone. This is a state owned company who has increased their prices 4 times this year but yet has made record profits this year something like 600 - 700 million euro profit while ripping off their customers. Please check your electric ireland bills as they are trying to overcharge me and I doubt I'm the only one
Terrible customer service and communications with this company. Will never go back to them. I would recommend any other company before you move, even if they are coming in slightly cheaper.
If zero was an option i would take it, i would advise nobody to sign up to them, i have been on hold now for over an hour, talked to 10 different agents who all ask what is my account number. Technician never bothered to show up after paying for a service and waited around for 6 hours. Moved from different departments and took half a day off work for something that clearly did not happen. Without fail the worse customer service i have ever come across. The reviews on this make sense. Stay away.
A friend of mine rang up about switching from prepay about 2 months ago prepay offered her credit to stay so she did. She never signed the contract with electric Ireland. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when she received a bill for €140 from them. €90 for electricity and €50 for an exit fee. She rang up and was told basically they couldn't do anything and she had to pay or they would keep billing her, despite the fact she's not using them and is paying for prepaid electricity. A complete joke especially in these trying times. They signed her up without consent or contract and then charged her to get out of the contract she never signed 😡😡😡
If i could give zero I would! Signed up via telephone call, the person on the other end couldn't understand me at all and I haven't got a strong accent etc! After a 25minute call I was signed up, Received two reminder messages about installation and then no one showed up! Rang you guys (again 10 minute wait) and was told by one lady that the date wasn't confirmed so I had to ring another number (wouldn't transfer me) and then by the second lady that there was nothing on my account only a name! Credit ran out then from all the calls and when I finally rang back and explained not one person apologied or even sounded like they cared! Just told me I had to wait another 10 days for another call out appointment!!
Stay away!!! With my previous supplier my bimonthly gas bill was €87. I switched to these jokers and after 2 weeks got my gas bill. €118 for 2 weeks!!!! Absolute robbers. I've now left and returned to my previous supplier, however, now my governmet €200 has disappeared. Have contacted them with no response. *****I've now contacted you twice via Facebook and still no response **
Worst customer service I have ever seen. Robbed 100 euro today from my account after having bill paid in full. AVOID AVOID. look at the comments below for proof. Not one positive comment days it all.copy and paste response to customers shocking customer service. Robbing people all the time.
AVOID if you can. Terrible terrible terrible customer service and all of the other reviews are reflective of my own experience. They robbed roughly E500 out of my account when I joined (i bought new house- previous owners had arrears in gas and electricity) and even when i provided proof of this they were slow in rectifying. In the end I had to block direct debits from EI. Looked to get a replacement boiler through them in the winter and took one month to receive a reply. The repeatedly send bills to the wrong address (even though I have pointed out our correct address five times). I asked once could I make an official complaint and was directed to an address that I could post a complaint letter to! Today for instance they 'called' me and it was a voice machine calling me to be put on hold. Lazy inefficient customer service. UPDATE: I have since closed my account with this company (its very easy to change supplier actually if you are one year contracted with them). The final bills were due a week ago and I have been travelling. Got home last night to open letters from a debt collection agency (threatening legal action) that they referred my account to. No effort from EI to contact me (email/phone/letters etc.).
Switched to Electric Ireland on the 20th of October 2021 and received the following confirmation via email: Thank you for joining Electric Ireland and choosing our EnergySaver Dual NightSaver 26 price plan. In the next four weeks you’ll receive your account number. If you’re moving from another supplier, your account will be switched over during this time. I am still waiting... I can't believe this is taking so long, with other companies it takes few days at most. I sent them an email on the 15th of November and no response yet Message from Orla (Electric Ireland - 18/11/2021): Hi there, Apologies for the delay. In the last month our call and email volume has been unusually high. This has caused delays with customer's being contacted back about their registration. Kind regards, Orla
Atrocious customer service (or lack thereof). Waiting well over 2 months for someone to enable online billing for my accounts. You are lucky to get a generic reply from them after waiting near a month. Should it really take this long to resolve the problem i.e activate online billing let alone respond to an email?
The worst customer service system I have ever had to deal with. You will lose hours and hours of your life just trying to talk to someone on the phone.........if the call doesn't drop.......they'll usually transfer you to someone who can't help you. AVOID AVOID AVOID...........what a waste of time!
They don't even deserve a star. Impossible to deal with, greedy and completely incompetent. I'm owned a refund on a bill and asked for it to be transfersd to an outstanding bill. Instead, I get a legal letter. Stay away from these clowns.
Very odd customer service experience with Electric Ireland this afternoon. Despite the phone menu offering an option to press X to change the responsibility on the account, the customer service worker (who was very polite at all stages, just not very helpful or forthcoming with information) advised me that it was impossible - no explanation why. I recently left a shared house and the replacement tenant wanted to take over the account so I appreciate this is an unusual situation. Then, it was apparently impossible to cancel the gas bill without a meter reading. I explained I could not access this because I did not live at the house anymore. Again no reason given as to why this was the case, or helpful alternatives suggested. Just computer says no energy. Suddenly - without any explanation, obviously - it was possible to cancel, but I had to cancel the entire account and agree to an exit fee. This is an absolutely terrible policy. Now an address is left with no energy account and it would have been so much quicker and easier to allow just a change of personal details on the account. Please consider making this a possibility. I have advised the new tenant to choose any other provider except this one based on the customer service.
It took electric Ireland so long to set up my new account that we missed out on the 200 credit. Applied for the service 17th March and received a letter with account number on the 23rd march but they never set up the account until the 31st Cheers
The only reason that there are 2 stars is because after 3 phone calls I spoke to a gentleman named Neville who sorted out my billing issue. To that point emails and phone calls to others were a disaster. One person simply put me on hold and hung up on me at one point. An email comically said I see you spoke to a representative so the issue must be resolved when it hadn't! Thanks to Neville. The rest really didn't seem to know what they were doing.
