Customer Service is extremely bad. 3 times I've called them in the past week trying to switch and I had to wait over 30 mins each time to get through to an agent... that last time the agent proceeded to put me back on holdf for a further 10 mins, which in turn brought me back to the main menu. When I eventually got through again I was told someone would call me back... that was yesterday morning and still no call back despite my emphasizing that this was important. I also sent a follow up email via their website and got no response either. my tip is if you value good customer service as I do avoid and go with another energy supplier if possible. _______________________________________________ Glenn - in response to you generic reply (that doesn't help resolve my issue at all): I have been waiting a call back from your Pay as You Go 'Customer Service' department since last Friday. I've rang every day since to try speak to them and submitted two emails (one on Monday and one yesterday) also and I've had no response so forgive me if I'm a bit sceptical of receiving a response at all from you. To any potential customers reading this - save yourself a lot of Grief and money and find a more customer centric supplier.
In order to register for the Dual Fuel price plan you will first need to have the gas meter changed over to a standard meter. Gas Networks Ireland charge €199.13 for this service. As there is a charge for having the meter changed back to pre payment, we require the homeowner's permission before any work can be carried out. If however you would like to keep the meter as it is you can still set up a plan for your electricity with the ValueSaver Price plan. Please reply back to this email and advise on how you wish to proceed. Replied almost a month ago to proceed with a removal of the a meter and register with the plan we chose... no response... no letter's no calls... mad...
The worst Gas supplier, not a single help from them, they keep transferring you from one section to the other, I have issues I have been trying to resolve with them, they changed my Meter, and since the change, I have been topping up €20 every other day, I use my gas once a day for hot water, an hour or max 2hrs, and I have called several times to complain, guy I spoke to today told me I will be charged €200 for an engineer to come check why the meter they just installed in December is running so fast !!!, This is ridiculous, I am done with Electric Ireland Rip Off !!! This is Gross ! It's their Meter, they installed a faulty Meter and I have to pay to check and correct the Fault ?? I am disappointed in this company.
I have closed an account with them (2 months closed) and they are not giving me a refund on the 200 euro account credit. They claim on their FAQ you can request a refund using your online account (there is no such way you can request it on the website). I called the number on their website 3 times, to which I was hung up on twice. One operator even told me that I called the wrong number - I called the number on their website under refunds so the website is wrong on two occasions. They have essentially robbed my money and are not being compliant with giving me a refund. I have spent over an hour on hold and still have not received a refund or even an answer to anything. I would never trust this company again and use a different supplier.
Moved to Energia today after being put on hold for 45 minutes with Electric Ireland and speaking to customer care male firstly who was rude and impatient and then customer care female who laughed at me when I told her I would be considering moving to another provider. 18% discount was offered to me but I have secured 26% from Energia with very similar tarrifs. I did the whole thing on Bonkers putting in very accurate info and I will save around 550 euro. Even including the 18% i will still be up around 170 euro. This is good news but what is even better is I wont have to deal with the rude staff I had the misfortune of speaking with today. If a decent respectful staff member had taken the call I would have stayed with EI. In these dreadful times of inflation particularly with energy prices CC staff need to be aware of the issues. Good riddance.
The customer care service of Electric Ireland is not existent. I was on the automated waiting phone line for 1.5 hours …just to be disconnected after that. It is just a disgrace to be treated like this as a long time loyal customer of IE.
Hi EI Team, I received my bill on December 23rd, and they have overcharged me. - I moved into my apartment on October 22nd, 2021. However, I got a bill for the last 86 days instead of the previous 60 days. Upon speaking to customer service, they asked me to provide proof to verify the move-in date. I have provided my Lease Agreement and letter from property management as proof to the credit-control team; however, they’re not accepting both proofs and making some very unreasonable excuses. I got the lease agreement in my email, which I forwarded to them. Also, I got a letter from my property management clearly stating that I moved into this apartment on 22nd October. They also provided their contact details if someone would like to go the extra mile to confirm the move-in date. However, the credit-control team is not accepting any of the proof, which is quite frustrating at my end as I have to pay more than what I consumed. They’re not listening to me despite sending multiple emails. Would you please rectify this issue and adjust the bill accordingly? I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks
15 years with this company, customer service ok.ish, loyalty team extremely poor, sometimes impossible to get in touch. The standards have gone down after pandemic, quite often it is impossible to get in touch over the phone. If you are making some ridicules profit and keep putting price up every 2 months can you at least hire more people to deal with customer queries? AVOID!!!!!!!
My feedback is for the management of the call center electric ireland I called your call centre today at 10:17 I was answered at 11:33 1:32 minutes of waiting From your previous reply to customers you encouraged them to go to different Chanel’s Facebook , tweete …. For fast respond Check your tweeter I sent you a msg and until that moment no reply . It’s confusing on how can we reach you faster since non of your communication channels are efficient . All I wanted is to renew my contract , it’s done anyway finally after 1:32 minutes someone answered . You can come up with whatever excuses still and will never be acceptable With all respect ,kindly work on this issue it’s not right for a company like yours Thank you
Disgraceful company to deal with. They over charged the account, I called them and explained the issue. The guy on phone told me it was their mistake that they hadn't updated the notes on the account from the previous phone call. I was told they would sort it out and clear the incorrect balance that was not actually owed. They said they would get back to me. No one followed up and I am now receiving legal solicitors letters demanding the balance on the account 😅 Definitely would NOT recommend this company.
I don't know what has happened to Electric Ireland but their customer service is currently almost non existent. I called their customer service number 11 days ago and it toll an hour to get to speak to a customer service agent. The customer service agent said she was unable to help me but that she would get someone from another department to get back to me. 11 days later no contact from Electric Ireland. I sent a request via the contact web page to add an account to my Electric Ireland online portal and 11 days later no reply. Its appalling.
After looking at the bad reviews And poor response by electric Ireland on this site . I might have to shop around something very fishy going on with the billing from there customers.
I'd recommend staying well clear of this company. Got the 200e Govt credit on my account at the start of April yet electric ireland didn't use it towards my last bill with them and instead charged my bank account for my last bill. Have been promised a direct refund of the Govt credit to my bank account for the last month. Twice it's been lodged to my bank account and immediately taken back by electric ireland, which happened at the start of May and also today. I have been onto them multiple times over the last month ti try and get this sorted, hours of my life wasted at this point. Absolutely useless. My partner is also having an absolute nightmare setting up his electric account with them for the last 3 months - he'll be going to a different provider as it's a joke at this stage. Avoid avoid avoid!
Be aware. If you are in credit with this company and change to another provider they will not refund your money unless you actually contact them and ask for it back. They use the excuse that they don't know what way you want the refund. Not only are they making huge profits but they than try and steal your money by stealth. Two agents + 50 minutes on phone to get back my money. Make sure you get back what your owed.
Electric Ireland have not been helpful at all. Horrible service, mistakes left right and center and in addition the billing is just all over the place. I have spent hours on the phone trying to amend issues they have created and its been a nightmare. I signed up and requested Direct Debit so I didnt need the 300€ security deposit. After signing up they attempted to take 300€ out and I got hit with a 13€ BOI Fee for not having money in my account. Called them up and asked them to refund my account and why did a security Deposit get requested. Response (must have been a mistake). Asked them to then cancel the Security Deposit request. 1 month later they again requested the 300€ euro from my account. Again I called to get them to cancel it and now refund me my money. Hours on the phone its finally resolved. Now I look at my electric ireland account and they have a pending charge of 300€..... ARE YOU SERIOUS....
I'm writing to you asking why you didn't charge the electricity from my account today? The payment day is today, the money is in the account, and then the bank will charge me a penalty fee, through no fault of my own.
Customer for years... ive a smart meter new house and on a smart plan. I cant see the electrical . appliances online that im using most from the smart meter. For months ive been asking why. They say 8 days for email replies i waited weeks and nothing more emails sent nothing . Numerous Calls to them ( on phone 1hr 25min plus each time )they all just say sorry about that etc call back scheduled next day for me on three occasions. nothing ..... after 4 months im still at very start. Very poor customer service. Suppose with 353 reviews average rating is 1.5/5 says it all
Disgusting service. The company's website works when it wants to, and it doesn't want to often. Strange prices.
Cancelled my account in feb but electric Ireland claim the switch to bord gais didn’t work for an unknown reason despite calling several times. Have figured out that they got the 200e govt bonus and have kept it so are pretending the cancellation didn’t go through until the 200 has been used up. Unbelievable that this hasn’t been highlighted publicly, scammers with awful customer service.
Tried to contact Electric Ireland because the rates of Pay as you go meter are very high. My husband contacted them and said that he wants to cancel pay as you go meter. The first operator navigatet us to correct department and the next operator without even listening to him said that she doesnt have any offers. And when my husband said that then we will be changing provider she said okay bye and hang up. Originally we just wanted to transfer to bill pay
