I cry as I write this review. Energy smart have ruined my house, my mental health and I am several thousand pounds out of pocket. The install took place on 10th January 2024. I am a single parent to 4 children, 3 with special needs. I had no heating for three weeks and had to get relatives to look after the children, as it was so cold. There was a leak that ruined my wooden floor throughout the whole of downstairs. The workmanship was appalling and still not 100% rectified. My burglar alarm ripped out in error as they thought it was a thermostat, still not replaced. Carpets ripped upstairs, holes in bathroom wall. A hole still in the kitchen wall, now with a picture to hide it. The list is endless! I was informed that they would at least reimburse me the flooring costs, but 8 months down the line, empty promises. I wouldn't mind if it even made a difference to my bills! I'm beyond broken. My house is fortunately and gradually being repaired using my own money. Please consider before agreeing. They promise the earth, but deliver nothing but heartache.

Will you get free stuff? Yes, but the quality of the installs will be questionable. Corners will be cut if you aren’t able to keep on top of everything, which can be very hard with people in several areas of you house at once. (the photos for approval to assessors, system is not a reliable guarantee that things will be done properly unfortunately). I had several recalls to address poorly finished work and in the end it kind of petered out, and we finished stuff ourselves to get a reasonable reinstatement of what was there before. The initial surveyors will make you lots of promises, but nothing goes in writing. The workmen on site (some of who produce decent work, but probably more who, are 'jack of not very good at all trades'), will tell you another version of what will/wont be done, and the office will tell you another. Basically we felt like we were in a smoke screen of conflicting info, and left just hoping for the best, but ultimately left feeling pretty miffed that they were very quick to pull our house to bits and very slow and low on quality at repairing and making good. In summary, I'm glad we got insulation and a new heating system under the grants, and I don't want to seem ungrateful for what we have received, but the journey with this company was longer and more onerous that we hoped and were offered. If i had my time again, I'd go for a grant funded upgrade for sure, to improve the energy efficiency of our house, but I would investigate which other grant funded companies are out there and compare. 03/11/23- since the review above, and following the comments made by the vendor below, we have experience more problems. It’s the onset of winter and the rain. It turns out that our solar panels were not fitted correctly, and consequently water is streaming in through the roof. And causing damage to the interior of our house. We called Energy Smart lots of times, and when we got through, because often the phone just rung off, we were told someone would call us back to help After two weeks and several attempts and no callbacks, and no help, we had no option, but to give up and seek third-party assistance. I have now booked a contractor to remove the panels and refit them properly with the flanges beneath the tiles and not on top of them! I plan to pursue Energy Smart for the costs and consequences of this poor workmanship, and inability to respond adequately to the problem.#NotFitForPurpose #failure to respond. Nothing has changed at Energy Smart. I cannot recommend.

Everyone's been great, can't complain we've ended up having new insulation and solar put on the house. The lads were really friendly , Lee was really good to deal with. Only thing was the solar panels took a bit longer than promised, apparently the scaffolding company kept letting them down.

What can I say !! Jay came this morning and performed a survey for us , what a lovely man , very knowledgeable, very professional and very polite, he explained very clearly what he would be doing and he did it very efficiently, any one reading this, Jay takes one sugar and a little milk in his tea, A really all round nice chap , thanks Jay , we really appreciate it .

i got my house done in time for winter and my house feels warmer than before, i rang the office about getting it painted before xmas and a very polite young man called ethan got me booked in in time to sort this out so its done, looks basically same as it did before they came. was an overall good service i think one of the lads that put insulation in was called kevin

THIS IS ANOTHER EDIT TO MY OLD REVIEW ON 05/06/24: After complaining to their regulatory bodies, energysmart were forced to be honest on their website about how you can complain. Only for me to wake up today to a reply to this review claiming I never dealt with them. This is a complete fabrication, and I have a stream of WhatsApp messages (the only time they ever left me with written proof of anything, as they purposely don't give you things in writing so they don't have to stick to what they've told you) as proof that this is the right energysmart.I ALSO HAVE PROOF I LAUNCHED AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT, AND THAT THEY WERE NOT TRANSPARENT ABOUT THE COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE (CONCECRNING THEIR REGULATORY BODIES, NOT THEIR OWN POXY COMPLAINTS FORM THEY IGNORE ANYWAY) VIA SCREEN RECORDING. THEIR REPLY IS A COMPLETE FABRICATION. THEY ARE COWBOYS AND EXPLOITERS OF THE VULNERABLE. DO NOT TRUST THEM In a final update to the atrocities I have experienced while dealing with Energysmart, they realised yesterday that my home has a rating of D. The ECO4 scheme only deals with houses rated E or lower. THIS MEANS THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE OFFERED ME WORK, CONDUCTED A SURVEY, ATTEMPTED AND FAILED AT THE WORK, NOR SHOULD THEY HAVE LED ME ON IN ANY OF THE OTHER WAYS THEY DID. They have wasted 7 months of my life and had an incredibly negative impact on my already frail mental health. Again, please see my trustpilot review for a few more details. I was asked to remove the orignal by an energysmart representative named Adam who claimed that his job was to help tidy up the mess created by the awful customer service this company have been providing for months now. He asked me if I would just kindly remove my negative review for now while a quote was made up for me and work was started. He also said he'd send me an email "this week" confirming everything we'd spoke about on the phone...that was in December! I have not heard back. My original review, which I naively removed in good faith, but fortunately had the foresight to keep a copy of: Terrible company, staff lie regularly, impossible to contact, never contact back, constantly dismiss you with the line "someone will call you back", staff have a bad attitude, they told me to hide my radiators which were already in the house in order to get more funding which may or may not constitute fraud, their surveryor damaged my house and then they left 9 radiators clogging up my house and did absolutely no work, and now they just ignore me outright.

If I could leave no stars I would. avoid at all costs they will trash your house do the install and leave you with ripped up carpets holes in the walls no heating and ridiculous energy bills this is not worth it please do not make the mistake we did they will lie after lie until you give up and pay someone else to rectify there mess

Avoid at all cost we have had nothing but problems.from this company from December and still on going. We are now having to go to the ombudsman and legal advice to get the work done to a satisfactory level. We currently have blue fluid leaking in the house, wonky solar panels a massive bill due to then not connecting the solar for 6 weeks. We were left without any heating overnight because they overloaded the board with my 8 month old in the house ! Which is illegal. I could go on and on about the issues from day one. This Is very exhausting especially as I'm pregnant and my blood pressure is high anyway. I hope they read this as your manager was suppose to ring me twice last week and didnt And now you are refusing to reply to me or answer the phone

The Air Source Heat Pump kicked into action for the first time on the 23/11/2023. It was then we realised what an excellent job Brad and his team did with the Internal Wall Insulation. This was followed with the installation of the ASHP and Solar Panels, on the same day we had an even temperature throughout our once cold cottage. Gone at last was the black gold (oil). Yes we had a couple of very minor teething problems but they were very quickly sorted by Matt by phone and a very fast visit. This was followed by Adrian who did an excellent job on the joinery work and then by Chris the decorator who pulled it all together . If you can put up with the mess for a couple of weeks then I would not hesitate in getting the work done. Energy Smart did everything they said they would do in returning our Home to us and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

We were contacted by Lee who explained all about funding to get insulating heat pump etc. We didn't think it would go ahead but in three weeks work was completed and we cannot praise all concerned enuf. The team doing the insulation and plastering were brilliant . The plumbers just got on and .done a fab job. Every single person who came into our home treated it with respect .. We now have a warm home with a system that is so efficient. We thank all the workmen . Can't remember Thier names. If I had a criticism then it's the wait for decorating allowance. . Apart from that we recommend this company 100percent.

We totally recommend EnergySmart. They were absolutely fantastic and provided top notch excellent service from start to finish. The office staff were outstanding, particularly Esther, what a professional and helpful lady. The trades were efficient and helpful. We are absolutely delighted with Energy Smart and the contractors they employed. Happy, happy clients, Anita and Trevor.

Terrible. Cowboys. Don't return calls, emails or texts. Shoddy work. Then left me with an unfinished flat for months. Avoid at all costs.

We had a survey conducted today, the young chap was very pleasant, respectful of our needs, informative. He took his time and explained everything to us in a way we could understand baring in mind we are in our 80’s. Well done and thank you.

Very poor workmanship. Very long process 4 months not 2 days as agreed. Very angry and disappointed. Left us with numerous issues. Never again .

I had a survey done today by Ansar one of the surveyors for a new air source heat pump. I am blown away with his professional manner and etiquette and his ability to work around my autistic daughter. This is what I class as a true professional in his trade, absolute asset to your company. Thank you Ansar and keep up the good work.

If l could leave -10 starsI l would. If you are ever thinking of having insulation, heat pump and solar panels fitted AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! They have no respect for your property having a fragile ornament damaged, an expensive camera and lenses tossed around and then other items dumped on top. MY hoover was used to clean up after the plasterers resulting in a vacuum that no longer vacuums! Has that been replaced? Of course not 😡 We had internal insulation boards fitted, that was the first mistake. The fitters couldn’t even be bothered to lift the carpets and grippers, instead they have put the boards and skirting boards over the top of the carpets resulting in the carpets being cut by the plumbers and ripped up to install the plumbing for the radiators and heat pump. Needless to say they now look like rags and are just laying loose, they haven’t even had the decency to re-lay the carpets. Have they offered to replace the carpets? Of course not? 😡 The banister they replaced after ripping the original off the wall keeps coming away from the wall making this highly dangerous. Have they come to rectify it? Of course not 😡 They took the smoke alarm down because it kept going off, that is now lost. Has it been replaced? Of course not. 😡 We are supposed to have been given a microgeneration certification scheme (MCS) number to give to Octopus so that the solar panels can start earning their keep, again this is non existent and will probably never get it as the work hasn’t been signed off. 😡 The ’carpenter’, l use the term loosely, more like an enthusiastic amateur, has boxed the pipes in using 2x2 wood. Who uses wood and not conduit? It will all be coming down again as it is a complete eyesore and we’ll do it ourselves. He took all the stair carpet up to put skirting board down the stairs, that hasn’t been relaid properly leaving it loose on the stairs and not cut to fit so just folded up against the wall. You have been warned!!!!!

Lovely gentleman came to my home this morning to conduct a survey. Must say, he was very friendly, approachable and curtious. He explained all he was doing and answered all our questions. Excellent service so far!

Had internal insulation boards done in my rented property; which have helped massively. However the mess left by workmen (plaster everywhere - even where they weren’t working) was not on and a couple of issues with electrical sockets that was workmen’s fault and although apologetic, could’ve been dangerous. There are some areas they haven’t plastered fully/cracked but they are areas that can be filled easily & won’t cause issue. I won’t recommend as they assured all work including decorating would be done within 2-3 weeks…yes the insulation and plastering was done in 4 days… but the decorating, we were told they didn’t have anyone. We had to wait for more than a week for someone to come tile so we could put woodburner back and use again. It took 2 whole weeks of promises of vouchers being sent to get the paint etc ourself and still didn’t get them until I was contacted by one of the business partners who finally sorted it out. Unless you have the funds and are willing to redecorate yourself after, I wouldn’t bother.

My name is Adrian and I used this company. I had complete internal wall insulation fitted and also loft insulation. The two fitters, John and Kyle were absolutely fantastic, no other words to describe it. The plasterer Bradley too was excellent. I cannot praise these people enough. It's a messy job and there is plenty of disruption but the lads put plenty of plastic covers everywhere and cleaned up after themselves each night. They really did work very hard. I thoroughly recommend this company.
