Installation very efficient. Prompt and tidy.

NRG were generally very helpful and efficient, and the installation happened faster and for less money than was anticipated from the original enquiry. The only slight negative was the uploading of the information to claim the grant, which was easily resolved with some follow up, but led to the process taking longer than projected.

Communication was instant and reliable and installation was seamless.

The salesman was helpful, but didn't explain well (or wasn't aware of) the fact that when there's a power cut, the solar panels shut down, and only an emergency supply from the battery can be used. We wanted to keep the heating going during a power outage, and though a workaround was found, it was not as simple as originally portrayed. There was a long lead time on scheduled installation, but I was given a cancellation 3 months ahead last December which was great. Installation was quick (one day) with carpets protected and everything cleaned up afterwards. There was a problem with the electrical installation, however, which meant it wasn't finished until late in the evening with no time for a proper run through of the system. The electrical problem was a mis-connection, sorted over the phone the next day. The wifi connector then failed a few days later, but was promptly replaced the following day. The system has performed well since. It provides 3.8kW from 10 panels, and heats the water from any surplus. The battery provides some power in the evenings and except in mid-winter, or particularly dull days, usually recharges fully the following day. Any remaining surplus is exported to the grid and provides a useful offset against bills. My main reason for selecting NRG over other quotes is because of their association with the ESB.

Very professional company

The system was installed efficiently but the main string (13 panels East facing) were not connected up properly so ended up loose all of August sunshine. The system was only working on 4 West facing panels which produced very little energy. After contacting you, the engineer found that the main string was not connected up correctly to the inverter. I cannot understand why your installation engineers don’t have a commission phase once the system is installed to check it is working as per design.

Excellent installers and back up service, good reaction time and knowledgeable staff

The installation was quick and thorough. We’ve had hot water over the summer and Autumn without using any other method other than the panels. Would need to review electricity bill over a longer period to comment.
